Join a celebration of art and history

On Saturday, September 19, twelve regional artists will set up their easels on the streets of downtown Belleville  –  painting en plein air (French for “in the open air”)  –  to create original paintings of historic buildings and sites in Belleville. At 1 p.m. their paintings will be auctioned at the Historic Garfield Street Saloon. All proceeds support preservation efforts in Belleville.

This year’s auction coincides with the 35th annual Belleville Oktoberfest. We invite you to celebrate our town’s heritage through art – then head downtown to celebrate with food and drink!

Event details

What: 4th Annual “Paint Historic Belleville” Plein Air Art Auction and fair
Date:  Saturday, September 19, 2015 (rain date Oct. 3)

Schedule:
8am – 12pm:  Artists paint ‘en plein air’ (sites listed below; some artists may not be on-site Saturday morning)
11am – 1pm: Food, drink and live music at the Historic Garfield Street Saloon (633 E Garfield St., at corner of Mascoutah Ave.)
1pm: Auction of paintings at the Historic Garfield Street Saloon (open in Google Maps)
