The structure featured in October of the 2026 Seeing Belleville Through Stained Glass Calendar is the current home of Renner Funeral Home on North Illinois Street.

After Adam Gintz retired as president of Western Brewery (later the brewer of Stag Beer), he, Rosa Gintz, and their children moved from the brewery complex to their new Queen-Anne style residence on North Illinois Street in 1895.

Dr. Edward. M. Irwin, then county coroner and later a three-term member of Congress, bought the mansion in 1908. In 1934, Irwin descendants sold the property for the Adam and Rosa Gintz House, today’s George Renner & Sons Funeral Home. The building boasts stained glass in its stairwell, its chapel and just inside its front entrance.
